LIFE TOGETHER
A little shared understanding.
A stronger fellowship.
A practical overview of how we care for our families and our community.
Keep first things first.
BCHEF encourages members to put their relationship with God, family, and local church ahead of fellowship activities. Participation should support your family’s priorities.
BCHEF is a home education support group. It does not replace a local church, provide a full curriculum, or take responsibility for a child’s education.
Membership & responsibility
Prospective members complete the required application and pay the membership fee. New members are subject to council approval. BCHEF is Christian in character, and members are expected to respect that foundation.
Parents and guardians remain responsible for curriculum choices, purchases, and their children’s education. Contact the council for the current membership fee or special payment arrangements.
Activities are a shared effort.
Members originate, plan, and host activities. Contact the activities coordinator to coordinate dates, communicate details, and draw on the council’s experience.
When you host
- Give families ample notice and provide registration and payment deadlines.
- Share times, location, costs, age ranges, attendance limits, and expectations.
- Plan carefully, begin and end on time, and communicate changes.
- Encourage RSVPs so families can be contacted if plans change.
When you attend
- Respect deadlines and pay promptly. Late cancellations may still incur costs.
- Read event communications and RSVP to the host.
- Take responsibility for your children’s behavior and safety.
- Parents normally attend with children under 16 unless the host has agreed to other arrangements.
- Ask the host before bringing guests. Some activities are members-only.
Lead with grace.
The Bible is BCHEF’s standard for behavior. Members are encouraged to be patient, kind, considerate, and accountable for their own conduct and their children’s conduct.
Address disagreements privately and with a spirit of reconciliation. Seek the council’s guidance when necessary.
Volunteer with a willing heart.
Activities depend on willing volunteers. Offer your gifts as you are able, and follow through on the commitments you make. Membership does not require volunteer hours.
Protect our families’ privacy.
The member newsletter and directory are confidential. Do not share names, addresses, phone numbers, private emails, or members-only content without permission.
Share public information about BCHEF with interested families and refer them to the public Facebook page or council email. Check with a council member if you are unsure what may be shared.
